Forty-one at the start, forty at the finish
Four hundred metres in the pool, ten kilometres on the bike erg, two and a half kilometres running. Forty-one athletes started — thirty-nine individuals and two relay teams — and forty completed all three legs; one stopped during the run. The youngest was twenty, the oldest fifty-one.
Raul Malservigi finished in 37:08, ahead of Valerio Proietti (37:27) and Dennis Di Gennaro (37:48). First among the women was Arianna Narcisi, in 43:27.
Each for a different reason
For some it was their first race ever. For others, a test ahead of the Cervia Ironman. For others still, simply a day of adrenaline and fun with people who train like they do. It is what the photos show best: forty-one different stories inside the same sports hall.
Behind the scenes there were thirty-two volunteers, and they are the reason the day worked. The first edition was held under the patronage of the Lazio Region and the Municipality of Frascati.
1,060 euros for research
As promised, twenty euros from every entry go to lung cancer research: 1,060 euros from this edition. It is not a figure that changes a laboratory on its own: it is a figure that comes from people who chose to spend a Sunday working hard for someone else.
