How we choose who to fund

We fund researchers under 40 working on lung cancer (NSCLC). The funds come from marathons, sports and cultural events, and personal challenges by the Strongers community.

Our methodology

Each year the Scientific Committee selects researchers under 40 with mini-grants of €3,000. Selection is meritocratic, independent and based on public criteria. The hybrid funding model links sport to research: those who do sport or challenge themselves directly fund a lung cancer study.

  • Open Calls: Annual merit-based selection.
  • Peer Review: External scientific evaluation.
  • Open Access: Results published and shared.
