Community, Prevention, Research: the 3 pillars of Strongers

Strongers international community gathered: sport and solidarity in the fight against cancer

How sport becomes a lever for change in the fight against cancer

Strongers Social Club ETS is not a gym, not a traditional NGO, and not a research centre. It is something more: a community where sport and solidarity come together to fund oncology research. But how does this model actually work? And why is it structured around exactly three pillars: community, prevention and research?

The first pillar: Community

Strongers builds everything around people. This is not a marketing slogan — it is the operational foundation of the organisation. A community of members, athletes, volunteers and researchers who share a common purpose: turning sport into a funding instrument for oncology research.

This community is not accidental. It is intentionally designed to forge meaningful connections between those who practise sport and those who work in the laboratory. Why? Because when you know a researcher's face, when you understand what they are doing and for whom, your contribution takes on profound meaning.

The second pillar: Prevention

Sport does not only support research — it also supports people. An active lifestyle is one of the most powerful tools for cancer prevention. Strongers weaves this awareness into its DNA, promoting physical activity not as a hobby but as a collective health practice.

Prevention is not a secondary theme at Strongers: it is a structural pillar. Every activity, every event, every community project reinforces the message that moving, being together, and staying active are acts of responsibility towards one's own health and that of others.

The third pillar: Research

But prevention and community without research remain incomplete. Strongers channels the funds raised towards concrete, measurable, transparent oncology research projects. This is not vague philanthropy: it is strategic investment in scientific discoveries that can save lives.

This pillar closes the circle. Every kilometre run, every event organised, every registration fee becomes fuel for laboratories, clinical studies and scientific publications. Research is not an abstraction: it is the tangible outcome of a community in motion.

Why these three pillars together?

The strength of Strongers lies in their integration. A community without prevention would be mere networking. Prevention without research would be medical advice alone. Research without community would be detached science.

Together, they create a virtuous ecosystem where sport is not an end in itself, but a means to generate real impact on one of the most urgent challenges in contemporary healthcare: the fight against cancer.

The next step

If you recognise the value of these three pillars, the next step is simple: join Strongers. Your level of fitness, your scientific background and your availability of time do not matter. There is a place for you in this community, and your contribution counts.
