In 2026 we were already on the course
We’re not starting from scratch: at the last Rome Marathon the Strongers teams were already there. This is where we want to build something bigger.
You run
Four athletes, one relay, the 42 km of the Rome Marathon. You split the distance and cross the finish line together.
You raise
Each team raises donations in support of lung cancer research. You don’t run only for yourself: you run for a cause.
You take on the challenge
A friendly challenge between the teams in the race: same finish line, same cause, the spirit of those who play for something bigger.
A marathon asks what research asks: endurance, effort, a finish line that at first feels impossibly far. And no one crosses it alone.

The most solidarity-driven weekend of the year — Rome, 11–14 March 2027
From Thursday 11 to Sunday 14 March 2027, Rome becomes the world capital of running. Run Rome The Marathon is the world's seventh marathon by prestige (Brand Finance 2026), Europe's leading marathon, and since 2026 a member of the European Marathon Classics — the circuit uniting the nine most important European marathons. In 2026 it sold out at 36,000 runners, four months before race day, with more than 60,000 participants across all weekend events.
Strongers Social Club ETS is an official charity partner: run with us — with a Strongers charity bib or kit — and turn every step into a mini-grant for lung cancer research.
Weekend programme
- Thursday 11 March: Expo Village opening
- Saturday 13 March: 5 km Fun Run — non-competitive run/walk through the heart of Rome, open to everyone, families and dogs welcome. Festival finale at Circus Maximus.
- Sunday 14 March: 42 km Marathon, a competitive race, and the Run4Rome Relay, a non-competitive race for teams of four
Why run with Strongers
Strongers Social Club ETS funds €3,000 mini-grants for young Italian oncology researchers under 40 studying lung cancer. Registration proceeds go directly to the next Strongers for Research grant round. In the 2024 and 2025 rounds, 7 researchers were awarded, totalling €20,700 directed to scientific research.
When you sign up with us you don't just buy a bib: you join an international, intergenerational community that has brought hundreds of charity runners to Rome since 2024. Run in Strongers kit, get support with registration and logistics, and put a real face to research.

When is the Rome Marathon 2027?
Sunday 14 March 2027: the 42 km marathon and the Run4Rome relay. The race weekend runs from Thursday 11 March, when the Expo Village opens, to Sunday 14; the 5 km Fun Run is on Saturday 13 March.
How do I sign up with Strongers?
Choose your option on this page (charity bib, Run4Rome relay or Fun Run) and pay online by card or PayPal. You will receive by email the code and instructions to complete your registration on the official marathon website.
How much does it cost?
The Run4Rome relay costs €220 per team of 4 runners. The charity marathon bib has a tiered price that goes up every month until February 2027: the earlier you sign up, the less you pay. Today's price is shown in the card above. No VAT.
Until when can I sign up?
Until 28 February 2027, unless places run out first: in 2026 the marathon sold out four months before race day.
Can I sign up if I live abroad?
Yes: you sign up with Strongers online, in five languages, by card or PayPal, and then complete your registration on the official marathon website.
Where does my entry fee go?
The proceeds fund the Strongers for Research call: €3,000 mini-grants for young Italian cancer researchers under 40 who study lung cancer.
